We understand the importance of helping parents of infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers guide the intellectual and emotional development of their children. The ideas and suggestions offered here are based on a body of research and scholarship that has been conducted and cultivated specifically for use by the parents of young children. This research and scholarship has been organized and prepared for use on this website by a select group of early childhood educators, researchers and scholars that comprise KERA’s Ready for Life Team.
What the parents of young children will find here can help these adults make more well-informed decisions about how to nurture and guide their kids in positive social, physical and literate ways. The four primary content categories are:
- Temperament
- Early Literacy
- Nutrition and Fitness
- Attachment and Socialization
This information will help parents raise healthy children who learn to read and write well. Parents will also be able to teach their children how to develop and sustain strong, meaningful relationships with friends and family, and how to develop strong self-esteem.
